PARALLEL STRUCTURE
There are some main rule in Parallel Structure.
A.      A combination in a sentence . Any length which combination has to in form (function) same grammatical.
1.      Nouns
        He likes music, art, and history.
2.    Gerunds
                She likes swimming, dancing, and hiking.
3.    Adjective
        She is tall, dark, and beautiful.
4.    Infinitive
        They wanted to paint the living room, to lay the new carpet, and to buy a new sofa.
5.    Past tense
        The Romans conquered, colonized, and governed much of the world.
6.    Past perfect tense
        He had finished the game, had taken a shower, and had eaten lunch by the time I got to his house.
B.       A structure which combination with but, and, as, than or although has to inform (function) same grammatical.
1.        And
She enjoy the music of Spain and the sculpture of France
2.        But
The exam that she gave was short, but difficult.
3.        As
Taking the bus can be as costly as taking a plane.
4.        Or
He wanted to borrow a car or to rent one while his car was being repaired.
5.        Than
Eating in a restaurant is more fun than cooking at home.
6.        Although
Although he liked to eat good food, he did notlike to pay high prices for it.

C.       A structure which compare two thing which has same grammatical.
1.        er......then.............   or   the more..................than...........
-          My school is farther then your school.
-          To be rich is better then to be poor.
2.        As............as........... or the same as................ or simular to...........
-          Their car is as big as small house
-          Renting those apartment costs about the same as leashing them.
-          The work that I did is similar to the work that you did.
D.      Expression with: both...... and............. either.............or...........neither......nor............
1.      I know both where you went and What you did.
2.      Either Fatinah or Arifah has an interesting book.
3.      The tickets are neither in my pocket nor in my purse.
4.      She wants either to go by plane.
E.       Expressin with: not only..............but also..........
S + not only + Verb + but(also) + Verb
1.      Johan is not only talented but also handsome.
2.      Ira plays not only the guitars but also the violin.
F.        Expression with: as well as...........
S + verb + as well as + verb......
1.      He writes correctly as well as neatly.
2.      Sarah excels in mathematics as well as in science.
